Reflecting on our journey leading up to the UTP-ASA Indonesia Trip 2023 in Bandung!

It all started in May when Dr. Yudhie invited us to the ASEAN Youth Forum at the ASEAN Higher Education Conference 2023. Since then, we’ve been working closely with AYF organizers to ensure a successful event. 

Our collaboration with FTIP Goes To School (FGTS) at Universitas Padjadjaran has been fantastic, with Dr. Robi and his team helping us plan our CSR Programme in Bandung. 

 

What an unforgettable journey! From August 22nd to 26th, UTP-ASA participated in the ASEAN Youth Forum at Universitas Padjadjaran, Bandung, Indonesia. Our 20 delegates and 2 advisors engaged in discussions on higher education and connected with delegates, leaders, and industry experts from across ASEAN.

We also had the honor of presenting the AYF declaration during the opening ceremony of the ASEAN Higher Education Conference.

Spreading love and laughter in Bandung! On August 27th, together with FTIP Goes To School Team @ftipgoestoschool and UNPAD, we visited Panti Asuhan Tambatan Hati, a heartwarming orphanage. It was our first CSR program in this beautiful city, filled with games, chats, and sharing gifts from Malaysia. The kids’ smiles truly warmed our hearts.

Empowering the next generation with STEM wonders! On August 28th, we continued our journey in Bandung with @ftipunpad, conducting our second CSR Program at SMA Negeri 1 Bandung.

With the theme 'Water Rocket and Water Rocket Parachute,' we engaged around 400 bright young minds across 10 classrooms. Watching their water rockets soar was truly inspiring, as we witnessed dreams taking flight! 

We also donated 10 sets of water rocket launchers and bicycle pumps to the school for future use.

Impacting lives and fostering sustainability! On August 29th, we conducted our 3rd CSR program at SMA Negeri 1 Padalarang, collaborating with @ftipgoestoschool to engage approximately 400 students in exciting STEM activities like Water Rockets and Water Rocket Parachutes.

To ensure the sustainability of this initiative, we donated 10 sets of water rocket launchers and bicycle pumps. Together, we’re nurturing a bright future!

An inspiring meeting in Jakarta! On August 30th, we visited the Permanent Mission of Malaysia to ASEAN at the Malaysian Embassy. We had the privilege of engaging with Dato' Nur Izzah Wong Mee Choo, the Permanent Representative of Malaysia to ASEAN.

Fostering connections in Jakarta! On August 30th, we had an engaging session with the ASEAN Youth Organization, discussing youth empowerment with founder Mr. Senjaya Mulia and Managing Director Mr. Ahmad Afryan.

Closing our Indonesia Trip 2023 on a high note! On the morning of August 31st, just before heading back to our beloved Malaysia, we held our final engagement session in Jakarta. This time, it was with the esteemed ASEAN Foundation at the historic ASEAN Secretariat Heritage Building.

Our hearts were filled with inspiration as we heard from Dr. Piti Srisangnam, the Executive Director of ASEAN Foundation, and Mr. Mahmudi Yusbi, the Head of Programme, as they shared their vision for ASEAN Foundation.

To top it off, Mr. Mahmudi Yusbi gave us a captivating tour of the ASEAN Gallery, bringing the history and impact of ASEAN to life. It was a remarkable experience that deepened our understanding of ASEAN and the ASEAN Foundation.

As we bid farewell to Indonesia, we carry these memories and insights with us, grateful for the connections and knowledge gained.
