As part of our ongoing commitment to regional youth empowerment and community engagement, the UTP-ASEAN Student Association (UTP-ASA) continued its impactful journey in Bandung, Indonesia, through two back-to-back STEM-focused CSR Programmes at local high schools, in collaboration with FTIP Universitas Padjadjaran and the FTIP Goes To School Team.

On 28 August 2023, we conducted CSR Programme 2 at SMA Negeri 1 Bandung, bringing the excitement of science and engineering to approximately 400 students. With the theme “Water Rocket and Water Rocket Parachute”, our team facilitated engaging STEM workshops across 10 classrooms, guiding students through hands-on experiments and rocket launches. The sight of students launching their water rockets skyward was symbolic—not just of propulsion science, but of dreams and aspirations taking flight.
To sustain learning beyond our visit, UTP-ASA donated 10 sets of water rocket launchers and bicycle pumps to the school, allowing other students to benefit from this learning experience in the future. We extend our heartfelt thanks to FTIP UNPAD for assisting in the coordination and to SMA Negeri 1 Bandung for their warm welcome and active participation.

The next day, on 29 August 2023, our STEM mission continued with CSR Programme 3 at SMA Negeri 1 Padalarang. In partnership once again with @ftipgoestoschool, we engaged another 400 bright minds with the same STEM activities. From water rocket launches to parachute trials, students were exposed to the principles of physics, pressure, and aerodynamics in a fun, hands-on way.

True to our sustainability values, we also donated 10 sets of water rocket launchers and bicycle pumps to SMA Negeri 1 Padalarang. This gesture ensures that STEM learning remains accessible and repeatable for future classes and school events.
These programmes reflect UTP-ASA’s belief in education as a tool for empowerment, particularly through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. By nurturing curiosity and creativity in youth, we aim to cultivate the next generation of scientists, engineers, and changemakers across ASEAN.
We sincerely thank our partners - Universitas Padjadjaran, Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS and Yayasan UTP for their support. And to the schools who opened their doors to us, thank you for being part of our mission.
Together, we’re launching futures.
